A NSCAP alumni gave current and former students and staff a presentation about the basics of advocacy. She taught us about different types of advocacy as well as a variety of advocacy activities that anyone could participate in.

Immigrants Day at the State House

A group of students and staff went to the MA State House on Immigrants Day. There we listened to Representative Ayanna Pressley speak about a variety of immigrant issues. We also met with Senator Crighton and Representative Paul Tucker.
Letter Writing

Here is a template for any student to write a letter or email to our Senators or Representatives about an issue that is important to us. Also, there is a sample letter written by one student in our group.
Discrimination

A staff member from the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) presented about discrimination law in Massachusetts. She told us about different kinds of discrimination and how her organization could help us.
